Brotherly Affection

It just struck me. Culture today has dictated us to such a degree, made us so afraid of being labeled gay or homosexual, that we can't even express affection between two guys anymore.

The irony is that all these people who label are the more insecure ones I think. It takes a guy, fully rooted in his sense of identity and masculinity to be able to say "I love you" to another guy. Why? It's just sad. Nowadays, the first association we hear when we hear that from a guy is that they're gay. It's just idiotic and shows the mindset of the world today. I'm not knocking homosexuals, just that perhaps a lot of guys have lost that ability to express brotherly affection in a thoroughly appropriate and biblical sense. I mean, even the great apostle Paul called Timothy his dearly beloved son. (KJV)

What has happened? Can two guys no longer be good friends, sharing lives without being labeled homosexual? Must it always be about sexual orientation? Perhaps that is the contribution to the decline in culture. The politically correct has replaced the morally righteous to such a degree that we're more afraid of what others think then about doing what the Bible commands: To love one another as you love yourself. This applies to both girls AND guys, to the complementary as well as the same gender.
